KC Chin, a Penangite by birth, and an authentic Malaysian citizen with voting rights; is a dance club disc-jockey, a fashion show disc-jockey, a radio show producer and presenter, a master of ceremony (MC), a broadcaster and a die hard Merlot & Monte Cristo lover all fused into the soul & spirit that embodies the man carrying the stage name Dj Chinois! Apart from that, Dj Chinois is also the partner of a company called ‘DJ M Studio’ with Dj Soya (www.djmstudio.net), a company that specializes in Disc-Jockey supply services with it’s list of super high profile clients, events management and consultancy, operating a DJ Academy with its own merchandising plus a section that deals in photography. Dj Chinois had the opportunity to be the Resident Disc-Jockey in some of the most prestigious high profile nightclubs in Penang & Kuala Lumpur. The most memorable postings were at the now defunct legends ‘The Study’ at the Penang Mutiara Beach Resort, ‘Borsalino’ at the Penang Park Royal, ‘Shock! Videotheque’ at Novotel Penang, ‘Roxy’ at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur, ‘Bar Flam’ Bangsar, ‘Café Flam’ Sunway Pyramid & of course ‘Upstairs’ & ‘Cynna’ @ The Loft Kuala Lumpur.
As a disc-jockey, Dj Chinois specializes in several genres of music. On radio, Dj Chinois is the undisputed Retro Guru via Skool Daze on Red Fm with non-stop sets from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s & the current dance favorites. Before contributing to Skool Daze, from October 2005; Dj Chinois was hosting his own dance music program on Red Fm called ‘The Vinyl Frontier’ in which for four hours on Saturdays, The International Club Sessions features dance music of all genres from Disco Kandi styled house, latin house, nu disco to electro disco, tribal, progressive & trance to chill out music and on Sundays, the Flashback Sessions features all the best classics of all genres from the 70’s, 80’s & early 90’s. In the local club circuit, Dj Chinois rocks the crowd of 150 to 2,500 with all the genres of commercial dance music from the cheesiest to the deepest according to the local tastes.
